Never one to let grass grow under her feet, the über-craftistas over at Martha Stewart Omnimedia have released a new app for the iPad that lets you design and print your own greeting cards. Teaming up with Snapfish, the new app — Martha Stewart Craft Studio
— includes options for paper and punches and a host of other theme-appropriate tweaking tools that allow users to combine their own photos with a pre-approved gallery of Martha-approved options. Most (not all) come free with the app (which probably won't be free for long) and offer standard birthday and holiday-worthy fare like hearts and ice-cream cones. (There are also some rather elegant borders that are theme-agnostic, offering a bit more actual potential for the truly creative.)
We think the app is simple and easy to use, if a bit unimaginative. Might our readers provide the oomph
that it needs to get us really excited? We'd like to think so.
SO: from now until midnight on July 3, we are acceptiong your design ideas for an Independence Day greeting here on Design Observer. Using the app, see what you can do: we'll publish the best one (or two!) greeting cards on July 4th with names of the winners, who will also receive a Design Observer T-shirt.
Send entries to: firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line July 4th Greetings.
