Live/Work Contest Winner

desk

Dwell on Design and Design Within Reach, two arbiters of modern design, are proud to announce the winner of the Live/Work Contest. The contest challenged designers to come up with a new home-office solution that would meet the demands of form and function and could potentially be manufactured and sold by DWR. The winner of Live/Work Contest is Chicago-based designer Amanda Ip with the Innermix Desk. The Innermix Desk was created with Ip's own preferences for live/work solutions. It offers a large workspace and simple storage solutions that together create a clean, organized work area that is still fun and modern.

Of the 587 entries received, 10 finalists were selected by DWR and Dwell editors, and the public was invited to vote on their favorites. The final five finalists were announced in June and showcased at the DWR Showroom in Los Angeles as part of Dwell Design Week.  Amanda Ip's Innermix Desk was selected by the public, DWR, and Dwell editors due to the fact that it offered the best solution to the contest's challenge and fit the bill as the next potential future classic.
